Description

Bourdon tube pressure gauges remain the simplest and most dependable way to display process pressure locally. A curved tube deforms elastically under pressure and moves a pointer over a clear scale, with no power supply required. Hamoon supplies industrial gauges in all-stainless-steel construction, with a stainless case and an SS316L Bourdon tube and socket, designed for long service life in the harsh conditions of refineries, petrochemical plants and oil and gas facilities.

Liquid filling with glycerine or silicone oil dampens pointer flutter caused by pulsation and vibration and protects the movement. Gauges are available in nominal sizes from 63 to 160 mm, with bottom or back connections and accuracy classes 1.0 or 1.6 according to EN 837-1. Options include diaphragm seals, snubbers, siphons and safety-pattern cases with a solid baffle wall and blow-out back.

Typical applications

  • Pumps, compressors and hydraulic units
  • Pipelines, manifolds and wellhead equipment
  • Steam, water and compressed-air utility systems
  • Chemical and offshore installations requiring corrosion resistance

Hamoon can supply gauges with diaphragm seals, gauge valves and calibration certificates. Request a quote with your range and connection details.

Key points when selecting a Bourdon Tube Pressure Gauge

  • Pick a range that keeps the working pressure in the middle third of the dial.
  • Use glycerine-filled gauges and snubbers where vibration or pressure pulsation exists.
  • For corrosive or viscous media, order an all-stainless gauge with a diaphragm seal.
  • Match dial size, accuracy class and connection position (bottom or back) to the installation.

Bourdon Tube Pressure Gauge — frequently asked questions

Why are some pressure gauges filled with glycerine?

Glycerine dampens pointer flutter, protects the movement from wear and improves readability and service life in vibrating environments.

What does the accuracy class of a gauge mean?

It is the permitted error as a percentage of full scale; class 1.0 on a 0–10 bar gauge means a maximum error of ±0.1 bar.
