Description

A chemical splash to the eyes in laboratories, process units or hazardous-material stores can cause irreversible damage within seconds. Emergency eyewash stations activate with a single hand movement and deliver a gentle, even flow of water to both eyes for at least 15 minutes.

Units are available wall-mounted, pedestal-mounted, combined with emergency body showers, or as self-contained portable tanks. Bodies are stainless steel or epoxy-coated steel, and spray heads come with dust covers and flow control. Freeze-protected and heat-traced versions are available for cold sites.

Applications

  • Laboratories and chemical dosing units
  • Acid, caustic and hazardous-material stores
  • Battery rooms and water treatment units
  • Petrochemical and refinery process units

Key points when selecting a Emergency Eyewash Station

  • Install within a 10-second walk of the hazard.
  • Tepid water (16–38 °C) is essential for the 15-minute flush.
  • Where there is no plumbing, use a self-contained portable unit.
  • Weekly activation flushes stagnant water and confirms operation.
